Yes the th400 would be relatively easy, but if I'm going to swap to an auto, I want a four speed trans. This is why I've been interested in the 4L80E which is essentially as strong as the th400 but with an OD gear. I have contacted BDE about this swap as I've pondered the 4L80E swap for 2 years now.
And as far as I know, Greg D. runs a Nissan TT auto trans that is fully built to his specs (not th400)
